Millions of people are expected to crowd IHOP's nationwide today, Tuesday, February 28, 2012 -- for free pancakes!   The restaurant is celebrating National Pancake Day.  Although the flapjacks are free, customers are encouraged to make a donation.  The effort has raised $8 million in its seven years.

Get Your Cup of "Joe" at Blaine's Newest Coffee Shop

Driving by the former Starbucks Coffee site on the southeast corner of 109th and Radisson Road in Blaine, I noticed a brand new coffee shop with the "open" sign lit.  It's called "American Joe coffee & ice cream" and has quietly opened for business. 

The store features made to order coffee drinks and teas, as well as pre-made sandwiches from its sister restaurant, St.

Dairy Queen hosts "Miracle Treat Day" Thursday, August 5th

On Thursday August 5th, the Woodbury Dairy Queen will take part in "Miracle Treat Day" where proceeds of all Blizzard sales will go to Children's Miracle Network.  Miss Minnesota will be making an appearance from 5-7 and in order to raise as much money as possible, Dairy Queen will be open until midnight.

Gala To Help Make Miracle Happen

This Friday, April 30th, music will be played, food will be served and money will be raised.  The goal of the Miracle Gala is to raise money to build The East Metro Jeff Hanson Miracle Field.  The field will be built at the Bielenberg Sports Complex in Woodbury and would allow nearly 2,000 children with disabilities to play baseball.  Right now the city of Woodbury, the Woodbury Rotary club, the Minnesota Utilities Contractors Association and the Miracle League of Minnesota have raised nearly $60,000 in donations, but they need $130,000 to finish the field.  The Miracle Gala will be at Axel's at Prestwick, Friday, April 30th at 6pm and will include dinner, dancing and live and silent auctions.  The cost to attend is $55.00.  For tickets call (651) 323-0101.
